KMEA is proud to announce that Ms. Crystal Price, PE, CEM, ENV SP, LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP O+M, received her certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer at KMEA, Ms. Price works to help companies and organizations improve energy efficiency to save energy and money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, make buildings perform better, and help reach global goals for Net-Zero. She is a leader in the global energy community to meet the challenges of a clean and sustainable future.

As a CEM, Ms. Price is an individual who optimizes the energy performance of a facility, building, or industrial plant. She is a systems integrator for electrical, mechanical, process, and building infrastructure, analyzing the optimum solutions to reduce energy consumption in a cost-effective approach. Crystal is the KMEA-ESG team leader and helps to develop and implement energy management strategies for our clients. As a Certified Energy Manager, Ms. Price has gained increased recognition within the energy industry and by companies looking to strengthen their competitive position by having responsible energy strategies and sustainable operational practices.

Many staff at KMEA have earned some type of certification throughout their career. Quite a few KMEA staff have earned ENV SP (Envision Sustainability Professional from the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure). Definitions of other certifications in this article include PE which denotes Professional Engineer; LEED AP BD+C (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, Accredited Professional, Building Design + Construction), for professionals with expertise in the design and construction phases of green buildings, serving the commercial, residential, education and healthcare sectors; and LEED AP O+M (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional, Operations and Maintenance), this distinguishes professionals implementing sustainable practices, improving performance, heightening efficiency and reducing environmental impact in existing buildings through enhanced operations and maintenance. The last two certifications are earned through the U.S. Green Building Council.

The CEM is one of the most globally respected certifications in the field of energy efficiency and energy management. Congratulations, Crystal!
